The name means “other side”. Originally called LisBeer - and when you paid by debit card, that was until recently the name coming up on your statement - it has changed hands and been given a makeover. So what’s on offer?



It’s a cool and laid-back place to end the evening. Some hard-backed seating, but also some sofas and, Python fans, Comfy Chairs. Usually approached from the Rua dos Bacalheiros, a street now saturated with slightly pricy eateries, Beco do Arco Escuro is literally a hole in the wall on the north side. A short climb uphill and you’re in.

The phone signal is crap. But their Wi-Fi is good. The main place in town for Aguarela beers. Usually one or two imperial stouts too, and they can be very good indeed. Take it steady and have a small one. Food offering is some snacks but mainly pizza.

The closest craft beer bar to the Barreiro ferry. Also close to Terreiro do Paço Metro (Linha Azul), and buses at Sul e Sueste.

MAY BE CASH ONLY if they don’t have a card machine working.

6.2 Craft Beer Bars

The craft beer revolution began to wash over Lisbon around a decade ago. Some outlets have, in the meantime, come and gone, but the scene is a good one for locals and visitors alike. You can get decent beer in The Great City - here are outlets I know about and have visited recently. Follow the links! Most outlets keep to their advertised opening hours.
