All those in the long queue outside the shop - nah. Don’t. If you want the best place to enjoy the legendary Pastéis, endure a shorter queuing experience and visit their café. The Pastéis de Belém cost the same, they’re straight from the oven (may still be hot - exercise caution here), you get to sit down after what may well be a lot of walking, and you can use the bathroom too.

The coffee is always good. Not expensive: scan the menu while queuing.

The craft beer revolution began to wash over Lisbon around a decade ago. Some outlets have, in the meantime, come and gone, but the scene is a good one for locals and visitors alike. You can get decent beer in The Great City - here are outlets I know about and have visited recently. Follow the links! Most outlets keep to their advertised opening hours.
